Background and Problem Context
The company's educational team heavily relies on the expertise of support engineers, who serve as Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). Upon receiving content from these SMEs, the educational team undertakes a comprehensive process that involves creating storyboards, scripting, recording voiceovers, producing instructional videos, and subsequently releasing them on the company's Academy platform. Given the company's software-focused domain, the primary emphasis is on crafting informative how-to videos.
In an effort to streamline and simplify this process, the educational team provides a video script template to assist SMEs in organizing their content. SMEs contribute screenshots depicting specific software functions and provide concise explanations within the video script document. Any special instructions they may have are carefully documented in the production notes section of the document.
Ensuring the quality of these screenshots is of utmost importance to guarantee that the visual content in the videos is crisp, clear, and easily comprehensible to customers. In cases where the screenshots do not meet these quality standards, they necessitate retaking. This can be a time-intensive task, and SMEs may not always be readily available, leading to potential delays in the production of video content.
